My friend Abigail's husband, Taylor, has made what I think are a couple of very good points with regard to the nature of fantasy magic. Here is part of his response to my last post after edit 2. "First, a one to one comparison with fantasy novel "magic" to Biblical sorcery probably isn't possible. Sorcery in the Bible, as far as I'm aware, almost always involves some kind of evil spiritual forces or the Devil himself. This is almost never the case in fantasy novels. Probably a good question to ask is: "why is sorcery wrong?". I don't really hear people interacting with this question much. It isn't because it's "super-natural". Otherwise, all miracles would be wrong, even those for a good purpose. In the Bible, sorcery is wrong because it relies on forces that are anti-God, and are used for purposes that are anti-God. I promised a giveaway a while back. I said it would be sometime in May. Then I got busy. Here it is in June. Only the month after I expected. :] I can't quite remember but I think I blogged some about my personal study on the Lord's prayer or, more accurately, the Disciple's prayer. I learned quite a bit about how to pray. Prayer is the lifeline for Believers and I wanted/want to know how to pray. Really pray. Through the study I noticed some things I had not seen before. For instance- forgiveness comes after worship and petition. Do you know how unworthy/hideous/dirty you feel by the time you get to that point!?! The Siloam Saga: The end of a Time

Tonight is my last night in this little house. It is kind of weird being in this room without my stuff. I have a small pile at the end of the bed to put in my car tomorrow. My poor little car. It is loaded down with all of the clothes I own minus those I am wearing and one load of laundry. The room is barren. Juanita has decided that she wishes to live alone. Primarily she wants my room free to put junk in I think. ;) She told me Monday I needed to move. I didn't have to leave quickly but this past month has been rocky. Especially this past Sunday. We both experienced some hot blood. I talked to some of her family and decided that it would be best for her if I removed myself as quickly as possible. The move was such a sudden thing that my things were not packed in a very organized way. It will be like Christmas unpacking to use my mom's description.
