When We Pray

East Asia. The most beautiful place I have ever been or seen.

"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit."

James 5:16-18

How do I put this post into words?
How to I effectively tell you, the reader, of what God has and will do?

A friend of mine spent some time out of this country this summer.  She went to share the GoodNews with people who have never heard His name before. Last night she shared with some of us about her experience.
What lesson did she learn while away? Pray. God hears. He answers. He moves. Pray.

This weekend, I realized I've had a very very yucky heart attitude lately. It has not been one that is "fitting for the saints".  I was telling some dear friends about all of the bluck. (Is it not what dear friends are for?) And I know that they began to pray. Yet while we were still speaking- they prayed. How do I know? My heart began to change.  Not only my emotions but also I began to see with greater clarity the problem- the sin.

What an encouraging thing! When we pray God hears us. When we pray- the saints are encouraged. When we pray- our own hearts are changed. When we pray we are able to see Him move.

Hallelujah! Glory be to Our Great God!
