I don't think this looks like a carnation. Not really. I think it looks like a brain. Especially in gray like the one I made. I couldn't figure out
the pattern for the base but the flowerthingy itself was super easy to make. The particular one I made is going to become texture on the granny square infant blanket I'm making. I'll post pictures soon.
That is exactly what I thought when I first saw it. (that it looked like a brain) I'll bet it would make an adorable blanket though!
