Not so Crafty

This....
is my sombrero doily.
It was *supposed* to be similar to this hat. I was looking for a basic hat pattern to master so that I can modify it to make an aviator hat inspired by this Etsy vendor who was introduced to me by BLM. Good brought me to PatternLinks where I found the above hat patter. EPIC FAIL. Oh well. Better pattern next time.

    lol, maybe sombrero doilies will be the next hot thing ;) ... if you want a pattern for just a round hat, i have one that i rewrote. it doesn't have a crochet design - just solid crochets (i think half crochets...) - but maybe you can read it and see where you went wrong with the hat.
